AMI AC Renewables
AMI AC Renewables established on November 29, 2017, is a joint venture between AMI Renewables of Vietnam and ACEN (Formerly AC Energy) of the Philippines, the listed energy platform of the Ayala group- one of the largest and oldest conglomerate in the Philippines.
AMI AC Renewables is focused on investment, development and operation of renewable energy. With the goal to develop and operate a total capacity of 1000 MW of renewable energy by 2025, we set out a strategy to focus resources to implement large-scale wind power projects.
In September 2020, AMI AC Renewables kicked off the B&T wind power project cluster with a total capacity of 252 MW, total investment of VND 8,900 billion. This is the largest onshore wind power project cluster that has been supplemented with electricity development planning in Quang Binh and Vietnam.
In addition to power generation and construction projects, AMI AC Renewables builds a project portfolio for the next 5 years such as: July 2020, AMI AC Renewables' 202.5 MW wind power project cluster at AMI AC Renewables in Dak Lak province, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province has requested the Prime Minister to supplement the national electricity planning. In November 2020, the AMI AC Binh Thuan offshore wind power plant cluster project, with a capacity of 1,800MW, was requested by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province to the Prime Minister for consideration and policy for making research and survey documents. Monitor, prepare documents for inclusion in the list of national electricity planning projects (Power planning VIII).
AMI Renewables has many years of experience in developing, constructing, operating and financing a $440 million cement plant project in Central Vietnam. In addition, AMI Renewables joined the Energy Development Support Program sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and GIZ (Germany) to research and survey wind potential and renewable energy development opportunities in Vietnam. ACEN is the listed energy platform of the Ayala Group. The company has over 3,000 MW of attributable capacity in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Australia. The company’s renewable share of capacity is at ~80%, among the highest in the region.
ACEN’s aspiration is to be the largest listed renewables platform in Southeast Asia, with a goal of reaching 5,000 MW of renewables capacity by 2025. On October 21, 2021, ACEN announced its commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
