This is the first wind farm cluster in Quang Binh province and one of the largest onshore wind power projects in Vietnam that has been put into operation up to now.

In June 2018, the Quang Binh Provincial Investment Promotion Delegation led by Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and currently Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, took the initiative to go to Manila (Philippines). promote investment and invite Ayala Group to study and invest in wind power projects in Quang Binh.

Ayala Group, with nearly 200 years of establishment and development - is the oldest corporation and one of the largest multi-industry corporations in the Philippines, with total assets by the end of 2020 is 27 billion USD.

AC Energy is a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation and one of the fastest growing energy companies in the Philippines and in the region.

AC Energy aims to develop renewable energy above 5,000 MW by 2025.

At the meeting, the Chairman of Ayala Group was very impressed and highly appreciated that the top leaders of Quang Binh province took the initiative to go to the Philippines to promote investment invitations and showed a strong commitment in always accompanying the investors. invest when implementing legal procedures, compensation for site clearance and quickly solve all problems arising during project implementation.

On August 27, 2018, at the 2nd Quang Binh Provincial Investment Promotion Conference, under the witness of the Prime Minister, Quang Binh province awarded a Memorandum of Understanding on investment cooperation to AC Energy.

Accordingly, AC Energy through a joint venture in Vietnam, AMI AC Renewables Joint Stock Company, to invest and develop the B&T wind farm project with a capacity of 252 MW in Quang Binh with a total investment of about 380 million USD. .

After nearly 2 years of researching, surveying, assessing economic and technical, and carrying out legal procedures in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law, on June 25, 2020, the Prime Minister officially approved the supplement B&T wind farm cluster with a capacity of 252 MW in the revised Power Plan VII.

Less than two months after being approved for addition to the revised Power Plan VII, on August 18, 2020, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province granted an investment policy for the B&T wind farm cluster phase 1, with a capacity of 210 MW, including 50 turbines with a capacity of 4.2 MW each, supplied, installed and operated by contractor Vestas (Denmark) for 20 years.

Total investment in phase 1 for this project is 6,845 billion VND. On September 20, 2020, the groundbreaking ceremony of the project took place on the occasion of the 17th Quang Binh Provincial Party Congress.

And by the end of December 2020, the entire site clearance work was completed in 8 communes of 2 districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy with a total area of ​​land recovered for construction of nearly 80 hectares on a total planned area of ​​nearly 3,000. ha, about 2 months earlier than planned.

"We did not need to wait for the completion of the phase 1 project, but confidently decided to submit to the People's Committee of Quang Binh province to continue investing in phase 2 with a capacity of 42 MW, a total investment of 1,268 billion VND", said Mr. Nguyen Nam Thang. recalled and said that this business has completed construction and installation, is legally and technically qualified to put the entire cluster of B&T wind farms in both phase 1 and phase 2 into commercial operation. from October 16, 2021.

Thus, the total time to complete the project of B&T wind farm with a capacity of 252 MW and disburse the entire 8,200 billion VND from the 2nd Investment Promotion Conference of Quang Binh province to completion and Commercial power generation is about 3 years 2 months.

General Director of AMI AC Renewables also said that the project of AMI AC Renewables was implemented during an extremely difficult and stressful period.

Specifically, they had to stop construction for nearly 45 days due to the impact of the historic flood in October 2020, the Covid-19 epidemic affecting transportation, disruption of the equipment supply chain and difficulties in construction. bringing foreign experts to Vietnam to install equipment and the preferential policy of FIT electricity purchase is only valid for 3 years (and expires on October 31, 2021).

In order to achieve the above-mentioned miracle results in a very difficult period, in addition to the high capacity and determination of the investor, AMI AC Renewables has expressed its respect and appreciation to all levels of government through various events. period of Quang Binh province.

Accordingly, the province has identified key projects, always accompanying businesses, working proactively, drastically, synchronously, quickly and in accordance with the law.

Not only that, the province is not rigid in completing the procedures for land use purpose conversion, compensation for site clearance quickly and without any complaints from the people and ensuring security and order. During the construction process in the two districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy, there was no need to stop construction any day during the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic.
